Hey there, I have a stripped cap on the tank, looks to be worn on both the cap and tank. I looked into a solution and found Leak Defender which runs about $250, are there any other equally effective cost efficient variants? Thanks!

thing is if the tank threads are stripped, what good will it do to buy a cap, it'll just spin as well, and most likely fall off as you're driving, then say goodbye to your $250...
a shop may have to "chase" the threads on the tank. hopefully if that can be done, THEN you can buy a regular OEM cap........

Maybe you can use a thread chaser, I used one to clean up threads on a axle spindle on my 3/4 ton truck years ago. Make sure you don't get any shavings inside the tank though.
