Jfaulk99, I pretty much agree with you. A 13 speed would take care of my needs on the high end, same as an 18. I don't need the splitter on the low end. But, I sure am interested in that very low reverse. Again, like I said, the low reverse might be worth the price-of-admission. There's been several times I wished I had a lower reverse. Thanks for your comment.
18 speed

I never thought about the low reverse. I can see where that could come in handy. At least more useful than the high range reverse which is scary fast!
-
true, but anyone who is ever on soft gound like dumps, grain trucks, ect, splitting the bottom really comes in handy. the ground slows you down so fast when you switch gears.

soft ground or a big hill, and I like to take it easy of stuff, no need to make the truck work if it doesn't have to
cat from the valley and 550hpW900L Thank this. -
JFAULK, can you explain how u split gears on a 15 spd? any 15 i ever had,had no splitter.

Everyone has their own likes, but give me an 18 everytime...

ah hauling 120k on flats moving off is ok wat abt moving off on tight grades? would it be nice railing like a wild horse praying that the rears dont run from under the truck or do moving off and cant shift cuz if u do the gears r so wide u stop everytime and have to drive 30miles up a grade in low, god bless a18 tranny

pardon me "deep reduction" you know the little blue switch on the side of the knob that makes the truck move slower than a snail. Only used in the winter to start the truck moving, jump out and walk around it to make sure all the wheels are turning.

RTO-16915 has 13.31 ratio in deep 1, RTLO-18918B has 14.40 ratio in 1 gear, the 18 has a better move off ratio and will handle more engine torque
