Evening Fellow Truckers and WannaBe's Like Me
Name: Jacob K
I'm 18 Years Old
I currently live in Riverside, CA
I'm looking for what company that will give me schoolin so i can get my CDL, Also Lookin for a Company That Is Good All Around. I've done some research but not as thorough as i would like.
What I Want
Cross Country (Don't have to be regional)
Neat Pay (Only thing I'm really lookin forward to is just eat normally and have a small apartment and maybe a small pet like a hampster or a dog)
Reason Why "Weeks Off or Vacation" Doesn't really matter to me is because I don't have anything much to come home too..
So, Any Good Cross Country Companies With Neat Pay, And Pet Allowed Features That Will Train A Person That Has No CDL?

Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

Hate to be the one to tell you this but until your 21, you cant leave the state on a CDL.
-
Yup what that guy said you have to be 21 to haul outside of cali. Well what you could do if you know how to drive is run as a team with somebody who has a cdl and drive with him/her till your 21. Just don't get busted.

Thank You All For Your Replies.
I Fully Understand That I Have To Be 21 Before Starting My Trucking Career, I am Wondering What To Do In the Mean time...

Go to school. Do what I did. I knew I was going to own a truck, so I wanted to get familiar with working on them, as well as business. So I worked in a diesel mechanic shop, and went to a diesel mechanic school, and school for business management.Baack and kickin chicken Thank this.

I seem to recall that the truck cant cross state line with an under 21 driver (could be wrong). Has for trying to scam it I wouldn't try it there's no way you could make the log books come out right. -
I have few more questions
Could I Stay A "Company Driver" or do i HAVE to Move up ?
What is a Company Driver, and what is a Operator?
