Don't forget to match the tolls and if you get timed stamp BOL's. EZ Pass will do you when an audit comes around. The auditor gets the transponder's EZ Pass account information that time stamps every toll you hit. That could sneak up and grab you by the short hairs. Or at least your company.

 

I have always 'loose leafed' company log books, but then again, I am left handed, and I blamed the inability to properly write with the staples in the way. I just punched holes through the recap section, never used it anyway.

 

How do they do it in a case of the ez-pass assigned to the truck is in another truck? a freind of mine had this happen to where another drivers ez-pass broke, so the other driver stole my friends. So what did he do? just took one out of another truck that was sitting. We talked about it, and he was nervous, so I told him to tell his boss the situaton. I havent talked to him about it since.

 

I always use bound logs. Easier to keep track off. As for the EZ=pass they will compare it to his logs and then see that it is no way close to his log. So they will track down who has it and bust him for false log. You also can't forget that if you get in an accident they will pull that ECM and compare it to your logs.

 

Don't forget tracking your cell phone by cell tower handoffs and the use of any plastic/electronic transactions.

Yes, I have always thought that before the evolution of the black box finds it way into every truck we should have a 2 hrs per week grace period written into law. 1/2 an hour here or there or that last 1.5 hrs to get you home.

 

There have been "black boxes" in trucks for at least 10-years. In fatal accidents the cops and district attorney will and have confiscated them. The FMCSA has also confiscated them in a fatal as well memory serve.

What's going to happen when paper logs are gone and everyone...and I do mean everyone will be required to have electronic logs, EOBRs, and knowing this new "Change" administration...video cameras in the cab.......

They're all coming...we have no right to privacy anymore.....

 

There is and never has been a right to privacy in the work place. Companies will not have the cameras in the sleeper, only looking at the driver and through the windshield.

Your right to privacy stop when leave the inside of your house. Anything that can be seen from a public location is not private.
