Beautiful truck!
I never really had a desire for that big of a bunk though.spsauerland Thanks this. -
You definitely wouldn't have a desire once you see the price tag on them!7-UP, Cat sdp, Bean Jr. and 1 other person Thank this.

@spsauerland
@pushbroom
Here's the Vin.

KW T880
Any info you can give the owner will be appreciated.
And he cruise cutting out is his biggest problem with it,as i mentioned before.
Still on USA rubber which i think is to tall for our speeds.(11R22.5)
Apperently the engine runs @ 900rpm @ 90kmh(55mph) in 6th(highest gear on a Allison)
In 4th gear,i have been told ,it is between 1200 and 1300rpm @90kmh.
@KVB @98989 and others,feel free to voice your viewpoint.
And here's the beast:
Oxbow, Cat sdp, spsauerland and 2 others Thank this. -
Parameters look correct in Software. It has 3.58 rears. Wondering if getting a brake signal causing cruise to kick out.Oxbow, KVB, daf105paccar and 1 other person Thank this. -
Good way to get hurt in a mill yard. You stay in that cab and communicate with VHF 2 way radio. You never approach operating equipment. If the operator doesn't see you, you can easily be killed or hurt.

If you really want to piss people off, put a Crapforce in it

What do you think about the rpm vs speed?
To low?Oxbow Thanks this. -
I don't know which exact Allison is in the truck, but it seems to me that (based on ratios of common Allisons) the road speed vs engine speed is incorrect for the rear axle ratio and tire size.
With an Allison with 0.64-0.67 ratio in 6th, I would expect the engine to run closer to 1050-1100 at 55 mph with these tires and 3.58 ring and pinion. Not 900rpm.
Also in 4th (direct) I would expect the engine speed to be closer to 1600, not 1200-1300.
There may be some other parameter settings that need checking, maybe the true road speed is much lower than they think and see on the instrument panel.
If the 900 rpm @55mph is correct, I would think it is geared way to fast, even with a full automatic transmission.
If the numbers are incorrect and in reality they are as I expect, I guess it could work, maybe still too fast depending on the jobs they do.
Don't (didn't) these guys do a lot of agricultural work, hauling sugar beets out of the fields and stuff like that?
How long did it take them to get the approvals and license plates?
For the cruise control problem:
I don't have experience with the Allisons, but could it be that there is a setting in the transmission controller to make it send a sort of "cruise control inhibit" signal to the truck's ECU, either hardwired, but more likely through the J1939 CAN? Transmission telling the truck to only allow cruise control when in high gear?
Just thinking out loud.....Last edited: Aug 1, 2019
Reason for edit: Added cruise control -
Yup.
He has one off the few sugar beet loading machines.
Your knowledge amases me.
They are now hauling chalk to fields.Oxbow, KVB and spsauerland Thank this.
