Aren't we suppose to be professional drivers? Aren't we suppose to be better than those in the 4 wheelers?

There are many people who should not be allowed to drive, car or truck. 115 people die every day in vehicle crashes in the United States -- one death every 13 minutes. Truck drivers are held to a higher standard because they are " The Professional" There are many truck drivers who are very irresponsible and just plain ##########. I will call 911 in a heartbeat if I see them tailgating, flashing their lights, blowing their horn. I also do the same for 4-wheelers that are driving in a unsafe manner.
I have a 17 year old daughter who I taught to drive, and I have told her do not let a truck intimidate you into making a bad choice, call 911 right away and let the police take care of them. My family has every right to drive on the highways and not get intimidated because a truck wants to get by you and shows aggression.

Ask questions on the CB to the offending driver? I seriously doubt that would go anywhere, other than getting an angry barrage of expletives, which I frankly don't want or need to hear. But I think you are headed in the right direction.

If they are tailgating bigtime, either me or another vehicle, especially a four-wheeler, I'll get either their tractor or trailer number, as much of the time and location of the situation, then make a call to their company's safety department. I did this not so long ago to Schneider National's safety department regarding one of their ICs, and they asked what I think they should do to him!! Nothing desperate of course, but that he needed to slow down and quit tailgating not only me but other vehicles on the road. They appreciated my call (seemingly) and would let his driver manager know about it.

The comments I have read about calling 911 were extremely informative as well, although I haven't actually considered that. TruckerDave, your post is right on, and we must all start watching our behavior out here on the road.

While I understand CurtWayne's post and agree somewhat with it that my complaint may just get tossed in the trash can, that's a matter that's on their conscience, not mine. I've done my part and if the company gets their pants sued off because they wouldn't reprimand one of their steering wheel holders, they can't blame me!

BTW, I've never abused what I've just advocated. In my 10 years of driving, I've called a company probably only 3-4 times because of such foul driving.

    Just my humble opinion...:biggrin_25525:

Nothing more needs to be said to that! God help the driver that does a senseless act like this. He deserves a ticket, maybe even a little jail time to get sober...

screw the CB. 911 is easier to dial and the ticket hurts more.

look buddy since you want to do the right thing and care so much about what other people are doing right. Ok your a trucker right so you have a cb i'm pretty sure so when you do see a trucker do something "un profesional" get on the cb and tell him "how to do the right thing" or be a man about it and tell him to pull over to the next stop and say it to him like a man. What i don't get why are people so concerned about what the next man is doing like seriously man think of it this way, since you paying attention so hard to what the other man is doing you can do something youself like hit a car in the enxt land orr un off the road, so just remember that buddy!!!!

You actually expect, getting on the CB is going to get them to stop Please........... Second I would not waste my time telling them to stop. They are inconsiderate jerks who have too much testosterone to have an intelligent conversation. Besides it is not hard at all to pick out the idiots on the highway, all you have to do is have your eyes open.
Maybe if they get enough tickets they will learn to drive the right way!!!

if i was flashing my lights and blowing the air horn about 20 times a minute (which i do sometimes) and you got on the cb and told me to stop at the next truck stop or whatever i would do it because i would already be pissed at the guy infront of me who got me mad in the 1st place so i would for sure stop for you to see what you had to say, hell i'd pull over on the shoulder right then and there. You see what i'm saying? Anyway what do you expect the police to do anyway because you don't have any proof that the guy was doing anything wrong?!?! Just remember don't look to hard at what other people are doing, you might end up killing somebody or running them off the road yourself.

    Rampage,

If anyone does what you have suggested I can see many more road rage incidents. Today there are a lot of "crazies" out there. It isn't the 50's where you may get in a fist fight and that was it. Today someone does as you suggest may just get a bullet in them. Just the other day two 4 wheelers pulled up to a red light, the car on the left (dual lane roadway) threw his hands up in a WTF manner to the other car. Driver of the other car got out, put two bullets in the guys head, in the middle of the day with his wife in the car. This is the menatlity of these people. You don't know who they are or where they are. Just look at the 88 year old nut job that shot up the musuem in D.C. Who the hell would have thought a 88 year old man would do that? Rampage, my advice is this, be careful, because these bi-polar crazies are everywhere. If you think I'm lying watch Nancy Grace, CNN or Fox News every night.
