You dont see no UPS (Buster Brown) rigs running around with duct tape holding them togther either because they keep the equiptment for way to long.
The most crummy tires I ever saw are on the Pumpkin (Scheidner National) rigs, they recap the same casing mutiple times and are all dry rotted, if a owner operator pulls their heavy, crummy trailors over 45mph all the tires blow out. Swift units are so slow they don't get the miles on them.
Trucks and trailers are only good for about 5 years of hard work then they need to be destroyed and recycled, no one can repair the damage from hard use.
If you built a complete truck from parts bought at a dealer it would cost a couple few million dollars by the time it was assembled.

Pretty sure swift is 62/63mph. I've only been driving for 6 months (Werner) but I've yet to come across a Swift truck I could not pass relatively easily.

You may be right but i thought i heard they had recently been raised to 65mph. Still 2-3 mph difference is minuscule. Wouldn't be the first time i was wrong though.:biggrin_25525:

I was out in a truck with my trainer for 2 months (Werner) and I can tell you what I saw. Alot of younger kids driving trucks that don't give a #### about thier truck. They don't own it,,so,,why take care of it. That's the attitude they have, heck, most of them find it difficult to wash themselves, nevermind thier truck.
I was really surprised seeing this , not just Werner either. I hope to have my own truck one day, and I will find the time to make myself and the company look good. With all these trucks sitting in TS all weekend you would think they could find the time to wash the mirrors or something

by the way if its dirty its because the driver either doesnt care or is making so much money they dont have time to wash it.

honestly my 08 cascadia looked rough as heck when I picked it up. it was dirty and it was weeks before i had time to get a truck wash. turns out you can get a PO number for any werner approved wash location IN ADVANCE....werner doesnt really tell you this. I washed it and now it looks great. One fairing needs a fiberglass repair and I broke the plastic bumper cover. Dropped a steer tire into a huge pothole at a consignee and cracked it. :(

    Belton Bandit Thanks this.
