Yeah and at Prime you give Rob Low $149,440.00 for 3 years and he might give you back $5,000 at the end of your lease trust me I know how the end of lease completion works there. Example: If the cabinet in the sleeper has a 1/2 scratch on the bottom of a cabinet where you can't even see it unless you unbolt the cabinet they charge you $895.00 to replace it.
If I did a 5 year lease with Prime it would cost me $242,840.00 so JCT will save you about $80,000.00 oops forgot to count the $1.00 for the truck you get to keep compared to Prime where you keep giving the truck back.
Oh did I mention the $52,000.00 in variable cost at Prime that you don't have at JCT. Wow JCT sounding like a good deal. So let me add it all up at Prime over 5 years I'll give Rob Low $297,840.00 to lease a truck from them.scottied67, Kimono_skunk and Jayshawn89 Thank this. -
First off they don't bring in 20-30 people a week I had to wait 3 months because they only have 10 a week and their getting ready to change their requirements to 3 years minimum experience before new hire. Firstly I would have never put myself in your situation with employing another person leased onto any carrier. In the end 6 of us picked trucks 4 didn't make the cut.Jayshawn89, scottied67 and martinez Thank this.

Personally I feel the screen name of the person who started this thread kind of says it all..................... Don't put it out there if you don't want criticism.

I have to disagree with you strongly. Lease purchase is an option available to those who don't have the credit to go out & buy their own truck. Some L/Ps may be bad. I can't believe they are all bad. After all, the truck still belongs to the leasing company and they are taking a risk on you. Sounds to me like if you don't want to use Q-comm and do your own maintenance and make whatever changes you want to "your" truck, then you should go buy your own truck. Until the day comes when you can do that, play by the other guy's rules or get out of the game and be a company driver somewhere. Nothing wrong with that. Only benefits the company? That's just wrong IMHO.

Gordon trucking out of pacific, wa must be the only truck good deal. if you are accepted, your trk payment is about $400.00 awk. you can do what you want to the trk, add lights, crome, graphics and so forth. they come with a apu and 1800watt inverter. no money down and depending on miles on trk, go anywhere from 6mths to 4yrs on lease and at the end, you make the same payment and they give you the title, no refinance, no balloon payment nothing, make your last payment and trk is yours. we have alot of drivers that own the trk and are still in it as a full o/o now instead of l/p driver. as alot of companies out there may be real scams there are a few that are good, just have to really search.

My husband is NOT a "glorified company driver".
Can he take time off whenever he wants?
YES, with proper ADVANCED notice, just like an O/O would have to do for any company he is leased to.
Can he turn down loads/
YES, and without penalty, (or vindictiveness, I might add).
Can he fuel where he wants?
YES, as long as they accept TCH
Could he refuse the maintenance agreement?
YES,
HOWEVER, if he broke down OTR, and didn't have enough money in his PERSONAL bank account to cover tow fees, call-out service, labor, parts, etc. he would be SOL.
Refuse Q-comm?
Don't know, L/P's , as far as I know, aren't given that option, nor are any O/O's that hire on to a company that uses Q-comms.
L/P's DO benefit, largely, the company. BUT, if you commit, and REALLY WANT TO OWN your truck, for 3 years, you WILL do what is necessary to OWN that, and put up with minimal bull ####e in the process.
This is working for hubby and I, may not work for others.
But being an L/P is NOT all crap, and does/will work out for many.

Sitting in my home terminal waiting for a load, a guy told me this story about how when he stated for JCT, that the owner himself would come into orientation and say, "we don't have late loads". Someone asked him what about if their truck broke down, or they ran out of hours. And the answer was, "we do not have late loads".
Now i might have a problem running illegal. I've done it in the past, when i was short 15 minutes on my 11 and was like 10 mi. from the final. But want to know the real story.
One thing i hate about these "report a BAD truck co." threads, is its always from FORMER EMPLOYEES who got canned for one reason or another. Then, because of their lack of skill, or lack of cooperation, they blame the company. Just curious is all....rollin coal, scottied67 and Wolfshayde Thank this.
