VNL 670 fan clutch

    2012 Volvo d13. My fan stays running all the time. I can stop it with my hand and spin it backwards while running. My ac doesn’t work ive replaced the fan solenoid and tapped the clutch with a hammer doesn’t seem to ever stop. I’ve checked all the fuses. Do you guys think it’s time to replace the fun clutch? My truck over heated 1 time last week and hasn’t happened again. Any other suggestions. Anyone know the exact fan clutch i need?

    Had same problem, same year and model. Yep time for a new fan clutch hub.

    Thanks, i figured... that sucks, did your a/c stop working because of it? I have about 590k miles just wondering.

    And do you know about how much i should spend some guy just said replace the clutch for 750 labor and parts

    No, didnt stop my a/c from working, that’s a whole separate issue.

    I paid $550 labor and can’t remember what the hub was worth, want to say a similar number.

    Your fan is electrical variable speed. It should spin free if not engaged. Check fuses and wires.

    Is there any specific fuse i should be checking? I checked them all I’m just not sure which one I’m looking for to re-check

    1st disconnect the air line to the fan hub. Start the truck the fan should run like hell. You just bypassed everything. If it's not the hub is bad..
