Centramatics

I have had them on the last three trucks I have owned. When I bought the first set, I didn't get new tires at the time we just put them on. The front end felt smoother right away. The guy that sold them to me said run them 1 month and if I did not like them he would refund the money. When I sold the truck, I took them off and put them on the next truck. I bought a new set for my last truck only because it has hub pilot wheels and the old set would not work on the new truck. I do not balance the front tires at all. Well worth the money in my opinion. My present tire salesman hates them though. He gives me grief every time I come in his shop.

 

Yes he would give you grief, he doesnt get to sell you as many steer tires that way.

I would HIGHLY recommend the centro's to every one.

 

About four years ago I put centramatics on my steer tires, two weeks later I had the drives done. MPG improved by about .25. The most important thing though is that I haven't had a single blow out. I did cup one steer tire, but that was due to a bad shock. I had one flat (on a super single) but did not notice it while driving. The tire had picked up a bolt and lost pressure, but stayed on the rim and didn't flap around. Another driver pulled up along side, and pointed. It was a nice day, I had the window down, so if there had been any unusually noise from it I would have heard (I hope). Centramatics are the first and best investment that you can make to a truck.

Details Please.. Don't want to make the same mistake.

 

Two sets of holes (I believe some applications only have one set), the little ones fit the studs and the big ones allowed the Centramatics to go off-centre ... thus hammering the tires, not balancing. I didn't watch them being installed ... after all, how hard could it be?

 

BALANCE the wheels & tires first!!!!!!!!!!! Any wheel balancer can only handle only an finate amount of imbalance! Give them a fighting chance, I am running 12.00R24.5 XZY3's, & they are handling the balance very well. Not an easy task!

 

How much would it cost to balance a truck tire?

 

The last set of steers I bought, the Firestone dealer balanced them for $40.

 

You still have to balence your wheels.. Just removing the weights and putting Centramatics on won't work.. They take out the small imperfections in balence not BIG differences..

I love them... won't ever drive a truck without them!!

 

Allways ballance your tires first, before putting on the Centramatics. They work great according to people I know who have them. Rotational physics agree with the claims the manufacturer makes.
