Do you know who leased it from Ryder prior to you getting it? Also, do you have information Ryder gave to you? It should be in there.

The HP differences is the key, have the ECM on the cummings upgraded and eliminate the split. All the info on fuel is based mostly on wind resistance ignoring grades, temp, rolling resistance, ect. Other than true flat lands 65-68 mph gives better economy because of grades. Climbing in top gear is better than in a lower gear maybe 2 gears lower. I am not saying wind resitance is not a factor, but in real world driving with grades 65 will do better than 55 in most trucks. Have 4.11 gears and lower not true, 3.58 or lower true, between have to figure out where you can roll up gentle grades without downshifting. It is also why 500 hp gets better fuel economy than 435hp, pulls the grades easier. The Challenger Thanks this.

Walmart.....

That is what I was thinking too. I am going to check on having it turned up to elminate the split atleast I beleive they told me once that the could bump it to 500 but im not sure since its the Lhp version not the red top.
-
500 will only get better fuel mileage than a 435 with the right driver.
I still say you got a lead foot vs a good driver. -
Hp is not what pulls you up the grades. Tq is what does the work or pulling hp is what is used to maitain a certin speed. You can turn the tq rating up and that will help the pull.
Also if you are concerned with mpg why are your trucks running 70+mph? Slow down and the mpg will go up esp. The ex walmart truck those are speced for mpg. -
Thats what my mechanic just said. lol He should get better over time. He suggested doing a overhead on it if I wanted but if its running 5.6-6 thats what ive always got and what he would expect out of a n14 pulling 80k most of the time. You do have to stay in it more then the detroit but I push them pretty hard so I cant say alot about the speed.
-
I stopped at the local binder dealer to find out about increasing HP and tq they said it woud cost about 600. Cummins charges a little over 400 for the upgrade CD and Passcode.
-
Im not fliping out about it I was just suprised at the difference between it and the detroit this is the first time ive ran them on the exact same loads for a full go round. I would love to see that cummins do as well as the detroit they have both been running the same speed and terrain there are other little things like not flooring it every time u take off and things like that make a difference. Mechanic says give it up that cummins just aint going to get as good as the detroit and theres no need to spend a fortune tring to make it.

How high did they say they could go with it.
