This is exactly the reason you need to get your fuel receipt in spite of the pump reading: "No Reciept Required, Eligible for Fuel and Go".

How long was the driving test? Drive around, do backing? Just wondering, have an offer from them i wanted to get some backing practice in before i go, I been out the truck for 6 weeks now, i might be rusty! Thanks in advance for the info.

What are driving? A Century, A Cascadia or Intl Prostar?
-
If you are going to be a company driver they put you in what ever they have availble. Its their standard tractor, columbia or century, with a 53' box. I'm pretty sure that the actual road test is a testers choice kinda deal. When I leased on he just had me drive around the block (about 6 miles) and back into a spot between to trailers in their lot. Company drivers might have a tougher test, but I don't know. The instructors were very nice to me and almost all the others guys...well they weren't so nice to a couoke of idiots. Last week I did my spring training which also consisted of a test drive and it was pretty much the same deal.
Highgear Thanks this. -
The food is really bad, and expensive too. It's like 4$ for a cheeseburger that reminds me a lot of the cheeseburger's I got when I was in school.

I'm going to orietation in Charlotte NC this Sunday 6/21/09. . expierienced SNI drivers can you please tell me about the national solo fleet. Whats the average lengh of haul for solo drivers? how often do solo drivers get 1000+mile loads? do any trucks have APUs? if not whats their idle policy? Will I get 2500 miles per week. I've read several possitive posts about SNI and I know its all about keeping a possitive attitude. Will they pay lumpers? how much drop & hook? do solos cover 48 states? I appreciate hearing the truth from my fellow drivers, thanks for your help, Luckydog(robertpots7)

I have heard rumors of SNI trucks with APUS, I have yet to see one. To date my husband has worked there 6 months and gotten 7 1000 mile loads in that time. Most of them were gotten on his dedicated 7 state regional. To be honest his average paycheck is 400-600 averaged all out.
-
I appreciate the reply "Irockugirl" well ...7, 1000 mile runs in 6 month I guess that OK for a regional driver but 400.00 to 600.00$ a week thats not very encourageing recruter said weekly mile average is about 2400 miles for the national fleet. So at .35cents per mile thats $840.00 plus or minus . . . I wont be there long at $400. per week
-
Well you need to remember 2400 a week is the average. So you will have weeks with 3000 and weeks with 1800.
-
And since the last few months 1800 or less is about right, he's only been region three months we were having a hell of a time living on the otr crap, his highest paycheck 1 times on otr was like 800 dollars. And their insurance is INSANE priced. The last three weeks have been 2000ish a week, or more, prior to that it was averaging about 1600 a week. Personally we are getting deeper into a $ hole but husband has his nose stuck up schneiders butt so when we lose the house oh well I never liked htat stupid house anyway.
