I'm open to any suggestions you have.

Haven't yet seen a company advertising wether or not they check DAC so without a list it's kinda pointless to say to avoid those that check it.

It's like asking you to deliver a load to a walmart warehouse without telling you which one. Just keep trying them until you find the correct warehouse.

90 - 95% of the companies out there do not use dac. You almost have to be trying to find one.
To give you a specific answer, if the company has more than 1,000 trucks stay away. Look at local truck stops and find companies by talking to drivers, or better o/o's to get an idea.

Another question I have is if you can't even find someone to lease to, how do you expect your business to succeed?

Dac since it was bought by hire right was determined to be a credit/consumer type reporting agency therefore has to comply with fair credit reporting act...so a lot of co'a really don't use them like this very often and there's co's that usually discount what some co's put on there since they know many co's are vindictive.

You know there’s not a whole lot you can do when a company gets sore about a good driver leaving. The “unsatisfactory” remark on your transcript is ambiguous and could mean anything. It looks like they’re trying to poison the well for you— a common tactic used by carriers. (They get disgruntled too). The best advice has already been given to you ( Add a rebuttal)

But let me add a bit of advice. It may seem tit for tat and petty, but it’ll hurt them the same way your unsatisfactory hurts you.

Start a thread about them. Hit em where it hurts. In the recruiting department. Lease companies like this are begging for drivers and an “unsatisfactory” thread about them in this forum is sure to get views and invariably affect their recruitment. Also I’m sure there are quite a bit of horror stories that you could share with us about that carrier and you’d be doing a valuable service to drivers thinking about going there. (The current thread notwithstanding) congratulations on your truck purchase and good luck to you.

The DAC report is such bs. No company in their right mind uses dac as they dont want to risk a lawsuit over defamation of character. Trucking companies are the only ones who use DAC reports. I tell people that if they are leaving a company always always notify and correspond using email. email is a legal document. be careful with your wording and email youd like to be routed to a terminal to turn in the keys to the truck. always take time stamped photos of truck inside and out. you'll need this evidence incase your truck company tries to get ruin you on the DAC. And always have your next job lined up and waiting for you before your email your company that your turning in the truck. Once you leave the company, give it some time, but get your DAC report to make sure theres nothing on there that is slanderous.

Also can go to Google, type in company name and address. What comes up is the company and a little map.

Click on reviews. You can read all the reviews and add your own.

This forum is read by mostly truckers. Google is read by everyone- employees customers drivers etc...

File a formal complaint with DAC. Document everything and get every ones name. Once you receive DAC's findings, if they're not to your satisfaction, then consult an attorney on how to proceed.

    Spend the money!

If you want to start your business, having good legal representation is one of the cost of doing so.

Right! This forum is read by mostly truckers. That is the core audience he would want to reach. The driver. The potential lease operator. This forum is specifically designed to facilitate that.

Just an FYI for those who don't know - the DAC report is legally considered a credit report, and is subject to the same stuff credit reports are. I.E. you can hit HireRight with a Notice of Validation, after receipt of which they have 30 days to obtain paperwork proving what's on the DAC is true and correct, and if they don't receive it within 30 days, they are obligated by law to remove the entry.
