I haul campers from the factory to the dealer. I have a DOT number and authority. I have signs on the vehicle as well.

I have had 2 level 1's in the last 18 months.

Are you in NY or CT?

Well that's different and you are required, but I still haven't stopped any campers. No I'm not from there. I was talking about the family vacation RV. I know when I am pulling my travel trailer the last thing I want to do is pull in.

    Jeep,

How big is the cargo van? What is the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR)? If it is over 10,000 lbs you will need to comply with the CMV regs.

GVWR is 8600 but its not correct. To me it appears to be an old passenger van. It has the little coat holders where you would use a coat hanger to hang clothes and has spots where seat belts used to be.

I am thinking about being a O/O of a cargo van/Sprinter and I am wondering what are the log rules for a driver of one of them? There seam to be a verity of different answers and said answers are confusing to follow. If I am driving a commercial vehicle that weighs under 10001 lbs GVW do I need to keep a log? If I carry a placarded hazmat load do I need to keep a log? Can I sleep in my vehicle? If yes, dose the sleeper need to be DOT approved?
When I was getting my cdl-a these questions were not addressed as the rules for big rigs are simple and straight forward when compared to rules for the "wee folk".
I thank you ahead of time for answering my questions.
