Recommendations for On-Board Weighing/Scales?

I asked Vulcan about that system, spendy! If I remember correctly it was a little north of 1k for the remote

 

I use a right weigh and it has proven to be quite accurate

 

How close does right weigh claim to be? Does it matter if you are sitting on a steep grade or uneven ground when you load?

 

That thousand bucks would be cheap, if you were loading your own truck, it is a pita to guess, climb down and check, then do it all over again several times

 

The company I drove for had them on the truck and the trailers. No complaints.

They are best calibrated with a heavy load, never had to calibrate them unless it was a brand new trailer.

 

I calibrated mine on flat ground and I always load on flat ground being I am in car haul.
I have checked my calibration two or three times and it’s always on the money.
I’m not sure any type scale would be accurate weather it be air weigh or load cell on an incline.

 

Most of the time if not all, you load a dump truck with a pile of rock, you are handed a weight ticket at leaving.

 

The electric vulcan scales or other brands of electronic scales like we use n log trucks are pretty accurate on uneven ground. Some of the places we load we are pretty much standing on our head. lol

 

Right weigh also has an electroic version that estimates your front Axel and uses air pressure from both sides of the air bags left and right there can be a variance with the mechanical gauge when loading on an uneven surface, I have both systems on my trucks and they work good I even have one truck with both systems just to see how they compare. the dual input electronic one is more accurate when loading on uneven service but the mechanical will read the same once on level ground, but the electronic reads down to 10 pounds the mechanical reads in 100's pounds see pic above. how accurate do you need to be.

mechanical about 150$ electronic about 400$

 

I have right weigh and pull a end dump, some days they are good and some days I cuss them, they are really picky about being flat and with a dump being flat and level loading seems to happen like never lol
