how long has everyone been driving here?

Hope I’m not to late to the party..... been trucking since 1979...... how the time has flown enjoying what I love doing best.

 

Almost 12 years, all OTR with just 2 companies. First company I went to straight out of school and worked there for 5 years until the whole Cat DPF debacle came full circle. 90% of our loads were for Cat and the whole thing just brought the company down and they sold out to Swift. Luckily I left about a month before that happened. Since then I've been with a small family owned company who is based close to my home and I can't complain one bit about it.

 

It's always awesome to hear from guys that have been out there on the road for years and aren't miserable pieces of crap that hate their live and just tell everyone about how much trucking sucks. Good on ya man, glad you are getting to do what you love and I wish you many many more safe miles.

 

Since 2006. Only about a year otr, then dsd for two years, and after that oilfield to get paid what I'm worth.

I would love to keep up with everybody's postings... but that thread grows so incredibly quickly... it's impossible for me to follow.... But yeah.... whenever I have some time I will stop by and chat some...

 

Trucking is just a good excuse for me to get away from the Mrs.

 

When I ran OTR, my wife was my dispatcher. I regularly came home for two weeks to a month at a time and, it was kind of a standing joke, when she would say, that is it, I'm booking you a load. lol

 

Started driving a 6 wheeler in 1977. In '78, found out that truck was heavy enough that a class B license was required...upgraded to class A in '81
