OK...I talked to a friend whose wife works for a company called JJ Keller out of Oshkosh, WI . JJ Keller is a data processing center who is contracted by SNI. What JJ Keller does is they take all the data, info and numbers from sales, Qualcomm box, fuel cost and etc etc etc .
They in turn process the information and feeds back stats and numbers to SNI. Anyway, according to the latest reports, SNI is deep in the red. 1st quarter was a loss and 2nd quarter is looking even worse.
One set numbers is the overall layover pay:
Average number of drivers sitting on layover per day 2000 X average cost per 24 hour period of $100.00 = $200,000.00 paid out to drivers sitting
EVERYDAY !!!!!!!! Look at the facts, 1800 per average right now. Now divide that by average 6 days working a week ( being that your out 2 weeks but home 2 days, Thats only 12 work days in two weeks)
You get 300 miles a day average. You will be sitting at least one day week. I will bet you the dispatchers will stretch your butt out where you sit 20 hours before giving you a load...just so you do not get layover pay
Look at the financial results:
Aging fleet of trucks, orders of new trucks & trailors are cancelled
Benefits are being cut. I think holiday pay was cut too.
Other companies have scaled back pay to drivers ... like Werner is .26cpm
SNI can not win these contract bid with drivers making .38-.42 cpm
So, SNI is now targeting seasoned vet driver making more than .40 cpm
to be eliminated to cut cost and hire lower paid drivers.
