Hey guys, I'm a Chiropractor in Charleston SC. I was wanting to start doing DOT physicals for you guys but had a question.
Does the company that you work for always send you to their own doctor?
Do you guys ever just go to whichever doc you want to have this done?
How much do you usually have to pay?
Since the incidence of Low Back Pain is so high in your profession, I wanted to offer a service to Truck Drivers in hopes that more of you guys will seek chiropractic care and our advice on spinal care.
Thanks guys.

I go to Chiros for it so far, I have had 3 of them, the last one was thorough enough.
The back issue hasn't been that big for me. -
Hey Doc,
It just isn't trucking that has back pain. Try lugging a 15 lbs. gun belt and vest all day. I know since my 3rd year on the job, my back pain has gotten worse. I see one of you guys from time to time, but a L-4 disc injury a few years ago has my back screwed up anyway. -
I was always sent to certain medical clinics. Don't know the cost, the clinic billed the company.
Outside of my first year of driving, I haven't had any back issues. But, that first year was a killer. After 6 months of driving, if I had to stand for a while, My back would spasm. Oh man, hope that never happens anymore. -
To answer your question I know a lot of companies have doc's/clinics that perform the physicals and all of their drivers go there, physicals are billed directly to the company so drivers would not be the ones to ask about a price.

1)they usually send you to the company's doctors.
2) No, see #1 above.
3) Nothing, the company pays for it.
4) That's cool. Good idea. More on this later.
i have a few suggestions if you want to get into DOT physicals.
Unfortunately, i can't get into in in full detail now as i have to roll NOW.
But more later, hopefully.
