The companies that will bounce somebody quickly are unfortunately also the ones that pay OT. Further, while this may not always be the case the ones that pay OT will bend over backwards to limit it.
R+L for example doesn’t pay OT, but they’re relatively easy to work for compared to the likes of Saia and FedEx.KullenTrucking, Western flyer, Texas_hwy_287 and 1 other person Thank this. -
If I was looking for job in the Houston area this is where start ….. Tanker or electric pallet jack deliveries.
CHEMICAL DISTRIBUTION for Univar, Brenntag, Nalco Water, Suez, Dist Tech. And a few others.
Might have to spent one night out of town ( in hotel ) if you have to run the Rio Grande Valley or Midland/Odessa just because you will be the low seniority person.Sativa909 Thanks this. -
I’m not concerned about strict companies. My company has had a zero electronic policy for sometime with driver facing cameras.
I’m not afraid of policies. If you do your job, everything else will work itself out. It’s the people that try to stay close to the boundaries that get in trouble I have found.FlaSwampRat and Texas_hwy_287 Thank this. -
p.s.
If you're female and you don't want to work the dock at my company, then you don't have to.
i'm ASSuming you're male. So a solution would be to declare yourself trans and work here.
(NOTE: Don't got nothing against trans, i'm just saying how my company works)FlaSwampRat, TugHillRider, slim shady and 1 other person Thank this. -
Wonder if that’s how most companies are lolTexas_hwy_287 and FlaSwampRat Thank this.

Most LTL's probably aren't as liberal as upsf is yet. The other strategy is to find out which runs are available at any terminal you're interested in working at. Niteliner usually means (unless the run is more than 500 miles round trip or so) you're working the dock.
Other established routes means you're just driving.
Xtra board usually means just driving. This could vary from terminal to terminal
