I was just driving on I-80 in Indiana from Wisconsin. I saw NEMF sleeper and trailer going westbound in Gary, Indiana. I tried to take a quick pic on my phone since I was in stuck traffic but I missed the opportunity to since westbound traffic was moving. I thought NEMF shut down some time ago. Why are their still NEMF trucks around? Did someone buy the company and saved it?

I've seen their equipment being moved around recently where they have a white piece of paper taped to the door with some other company's numbers on it. New England Motor Freight itself is no more.
-
People around these parts are using their equipment.
-
Estes bought a bunch... a lot of that Eastern Freightways as well.
-
I’ve seen a Central tractor pulling one of their trailers.
-
Central’s still pulling trailers from everybody they’ve bought out. I see Vitran trailers running around still.
-
Vitran...there's one I forgot about. There was a ltl barn next to the ups I worked at and I went from frame's which was a local old mom and pop to something else to vitran to central in like three weeks lol.LtlAnonymous, Texas_hwy_287 and MACK E-6 Thank this.

Vitran bought PJAX, then Central bought Vitran IIRC.LtlAnonymous, bzinger, FlaSwampRat and 1 other person Thank this.

PJAX, too, although I think they retired most of them by now. I still see plenty of Milan Express trailers as well. At their Cincinnati barn they have a "Chris" trailer which I think may have been a Canadian carrier. Then there are the occasional Frankenstein trailers that have parts from 2 carriers on them they've cobbled together.LtlAnonymous, Cardfan89 and FlaSwampRat Thank this.

Yep. Vitran also bought Milan.LtlAnonymous Thanks this.
