Lol. Cool. I personally like the Peerless Quick binder. Probably not worth the extra money but I like them. LolLast edited: Aug 16, 2019
skellr Thanks this. -
Scrap cars will need really long chains, but I wouldn't recommend hauling scrap, no matter how well it's paying. The fluids that leak out, and the damage it does to the trailer just isn't worth it. Unless you are running a dedicated scrap trailer mind you.
There is a difference, but it comes down more to metallurgy (how it's made, not where it's made). Cheaper chain is going to be more poorly made. Like with anything made of steel, you have to spend some money to get a quality product. -
I carry 8-3/8"-20' and 4-5/16"-20 and
1-5/16"-30' all grade 70.
Most of my loads are equipment and "things" not loads of pipe, coils or pallets.
I use the 3/8" chain most the time.
I always buy made in the USA and the cost isn't much more than import.
Current price $55.00 for 3/8"-20' G70
Peerless brand.
Good luck -
Thanks. I did notice the cost wasn't much more for made in the USA chain. I was looking online at MyTee products. Not sure what brand their USA chain is.cke Thanks this.

I buy mine at Fleet Farm stores
They carry bulk chain and binders. -
everything made in China is crap. why would chain be any different.
Might be marked as grade 70, might even be grade 70, might not.
Made in USA grade 70 chain is in fact going to be grade 70 chain -
The off shore stuff seems to tarnish and corrode a little quicker than U.S made chain in my experience.

I carry 4 14' 3/8 chains. I use them more then anything. I want more buy haven't got back to where I got them. I know a lot of heavy haul guys that only carry 10' 1/2" chains. 20' is to much I think. I do still carry 20' but don't use them often.
