LOL. This possibility I did not see...could it work though?
I heard about people setting up their cars with fire...that's arson and jail. Would insurance pay for a damage done by sugar in engine oil, even if a bad guy did it? Too easy!
Damages done to truck?

the claim would have to be started and a garage chosen for the teardown.
in many states, you have the right to go anyplace you want for repairs, but this now is a truck insurance company, and the clauses on where to take it for repairs may be very specific, like a particular dealership, rather then the place it was purchased at.
with no pictures, or video as any kind of proof, the insurance company may only pay a partial claim.
we don't even know if anything engine related is in HIS specific coverage.
let's face it, he was not there....point 1
he never followed up on the time and date of the meeting ......point 2
he has no warranty...point 3
he says it makes no sense to make anymore truck payments.....point 4
he never says why he left that company...point 5
i'm thinking that he wants out, of his truck payments, might be underwater right now, and he sauced his engine, and is trying to blame someone else.FlaSwampRat, Dave_in_AZ, starmac and 2 others Thank this. -
I have seen insurance pay out and do some extensive rebuilds on both farm and construction equipment, due to vandalism.
FlaSwampRat and Trucknlyfe Thank this. -
I have to say...
If someone were to sabotage their own engine just in the hopes that they could get something free out of a particular situation...
That's absolutely completely mentally insane.
Who knows if they will pay for it? You can't put the truck to work and make a penny of money. How long is the truck going to be out of service? The bills keep rolling in and rolling in...
You would really have to be mentally deficient to do something like that.p608, FlaSwampRat, Dave_in_AZ and 1 other person Thank this. -
Then, it must be something different, lord knows there are no mentally deficient drivers out here. lol
I have never seen it done, but I have seen guys pull the motor and let the bank repo the truck without an engine. Infact I saw that happen again last week. lolFlaSwampRat, Dino soar, TallJoe and 1 other person Thank this. -
Maybe the title to this thread should have been..
How Low Can You Go...FlaSwampRat and Dave_in_AZ Thank this. -
Wow...this thread will give people ideas. Lol.
FlaSwampRat Thanks this. -
Why would the guy sabotage the engine, but then leave a calling card "Hey, I sabotaged your engine?"
Kinda defeats the purpose doesn't it?
Or is he the same guy that goes to rob a bank, then realizes at the teller he forgot his mask?FlaSwampRat Thanks this. -
I remember a news article once where a guy robbed the bank, but the teller told him she couldn't give him cash unless he produced an id, and he did. lolFlaSwampRat and Dino soar Thank this.

I started it not knowing or assuming they would sabatoge the engine. I ended up dropping it off at the shop to inspect it and it cut off right as I entered into their gate so they had to tow it the rest of the way. I will know analysis in about 1 week.
