This week I was driving north on I-5 in Oregon and kept passing these fully restored semi trucks with trailers. I finally got on the radio and called one of them who said they were heading for the Oregon State Fair in Salem for their annual show. One in particular that I thought was fantastic was what appeared to be a 50's or 60's model KW truck with a fully restored reefer trailer. On the back it said "Another load of Colorado cool-aid" and on the side was Coors Beer. It was in pristine condition, and the reefer was all polished aluminum or stainless steel like a mirror. It was smaller than a modern reefer in height and length.
I can't find a picture of the truck I saw online, but I found a web page that talks about the American Truck Historical Society, and how they're having their annual show at the fair this year. There are pages of pictures of old iron trucks.

I see those trucks every now and then on the I-5 myself. They become a big traffic hazard as everybody slows down and takes a look

I have read about all you can read on the ahts site and while some restore them back to original, some do some stuff that makes them look like it but not safe to ever load again, just to basically bobtail around in.
FlaSwampRat and Intothesunset Thank this. -
ATHS is a wealth of old school iron info.

A few years back. There was a orange w900 getting loaded. I don't remember where or what. Very nice looker for the age. Guy wasn't around so I could ask him about it. But that thing had to be 60's era.
Intothesunset Thanks this. -
Come to Jane Lew sometime in West Va, you see some B61's rolling around regularly.
