That one at Rockwall was a total dump before they completely rebuilt it. That has been a few years now, so may be a dump again. lol
Lepton1 and stayinback Thank this. -
They should have had that tanker make circuits around the Denton lot and then struck a match. It might have burned off some of the baked in urine. You absolutely MUST idle in Denton unless you enjoy the smell. Heck, just hook a hose up to the tanker and run some of that juice into the building, too. It would do the place well to get the Indianapolis flying j treatment....

After dark i dont even try to get into truckstops. I find a ramp shoulder or vacant industrial lot on satelite view.

Wait a second...Aren't you that guy that had a weird neighbor that wanted you to drive his truck with a front end ready to come apart?Lepton1 Thanks this.

My first year as a driver, I drove for Knight.
I was hauling motor oil in a van something like 20x 50 gallon drums.
I was halfway through my journey, woke up at a TA at a place that will remain undisclosed. While doing my Pre-Trip, I noticed that a had a large amount of oil leaking out the back of the trailer. 2 of the drums had sprung leaks.
I called into the safety debt to report the situation and I ended up sitting a day at that TA with oil spilling out while management decided what to do.
Now, the motor oil was exempt from hazmat regs as long it was in the drums (I had no placards or even a hazmat endorsement at the time). However since it was leaking, it was considered a Hazmat spill and no longer exempt from regs.
After sitting the day, management called me up and told me to just run it to the destination. They decided they didn't want the hassle of dealing with a hazmat spill situation. So my stupid self didn't put my foot down and I ran it when I should have refused, but I managed to make it through into California without anyone noticing the motor oil leaking out of my trailer.
I cringe thinking back on that situation and what would have happened if I had been inspected. I left a huge oil spill at a TA parking lot, and probably a bunch on the highway too. I kept my mouth shut to everyone except my company's safety department and nobody else was the wiser.
I wonder how big this spill at Denton was for someone to notice, most truckstops are such dumps that many spills would probably go unnoticed like my own 100 gallon oil spill.FlaSwampRat, Bean Jr., D.Tibbitt and 1 other person Thank this. -
lol, Im not sure how old you were at the time- But I hope you learned..(I dont blame you-You didn't know any better)
