We just had our truck in the shop and they replaced the air compressor. We asked them to hook it up to do a diagnostic on some codes. They cleared the codes. Truck is back on the road, 5 minutes later, and now has 85 fault codes.

WHAT?!?!? Any ideas of what could have gone wrong?

What truck is this? Is it a lease? Is it under warranty?
If not under warranty or a lease, than things may get very expensive very fast. Lesson of the day computers don't make life that much better.

Hahah that is a true true story!!! It's a 2013 Volvo Cummins ISX engine. We purchased it back in March and it has been a pill ever since. It is under a warranty, well the extended warranty we purchased, however it only covers "internally lubricated items".

Clear codes and see if they come back. They might have disconnected some plugs which would throw a bunch of codes.

Internally if your near 500,000 miles or equivalent hours you probably have a carbon packed piston which leads to dropped liner, or your fuel pump may have exploded meaning your engine is near death. Did you go to a Cummins shop??

We didn't take it to a Cummins shop, he was broken down in OH so we had the nearest shop come help. If he can make it back to FL we will put it in our local Cummins shop. Fingers crossed.
