You know how far you can be away to make it back in time w hours available.
I would not go past that point.
On Monday speak w someone that can authorize your trip back east.
If not.. secure the rig and fly home for a family emergency

There is a two word response I would give them, one word is "off".

    Don't cave.

If you can't make a delivery based on 48 mph with time left, then don't do it.

You are the boss. Go get another job, tell them when you quit why you are quoting and put it behind you.

Lordy, I bet these companies just love guys that will just do what they want no matter what.
I am having a hard time wrapping my head around this one, within minutes of finding out about my mother the company would know where there truck was going to be parked, if they couldn't head me home. I am talking loaded or empty, to hell with abandonment or anything else they want to call it.
What is wrong with people these days?

In the old days yes, a gallon of coffee and a bunch of meat products off you go, and 4 packs of smokes. Not the cheap burning paper that people think it's smoking neither.

YEP, I would D/H home if need be, or bring the load. They know my address from my ever running QC and my file.

The one thing dispatch *(That I learned to do) does not know is where family is around the USA> If they ever found out you are in say Indy for 4 days to entertain by family you will never see indy again with that company.

    GhentSaintPeters and G13Tomcat Thank this.
