I currently drive for Booker Transportation, which is based out of Amarillo, TX. I'm looking for a much better company to lease on with, for the fallowing reasons:
a. My deadhead miles are almost equal to my loaded miles and Booker does't pay deadhead miles.
b. The insurance they have is very high.:smt021
c. The reefer fuel comes out of my pocket with no type of reimbusement.
d. I have to ALWAYS take a trailer back to our yard to drop empty and pick up a different empty one then proceed to loaction to load, which could be 200 miles away on top of whay I've already deadheaded.
e. The paperwork issue is a nightmare. We can drop it at our yard which will be picked up only on Mondays, or we can fax it to them and mail the origainal, or we can take it to the MAIN office in person. This doesn't sound bad but if the paperwork isn't in recieved by Monday at 5pm we will not get paid the fallowing Friday.
f. The dispatchers are complete turds, as they are with most companies. These guys are rude on the phone, they will not call, we have to call them. They don't like to talk on the phones but they've got a job that requires them to be on the phone, go figure.
g. They have never been drivers, they have no idea what we go through or what it's like. I've been threatened to have my trailer given to somebody else because the trailer broke down and I called the dispatcher to let him know what had happened (it wasn't my fault), he also threatened to keep me without a load for 3 days in Chicago because I bothered him with the trailer info.:smt084

Now, I have NO idea how or why I owe them money because the lady couldn't give me a reason. I do know they owe ME money for lumpers that I'm supose to get reimbursed for but haven't been.

Sorry to hear what happened to you hand. Have you found another job yet, if so share some info with us. Good luck to you and I hope you've found something better than that outfit you were with.

I haven't found anything yet, but to be quite honest I realy haven't been looking too hard, I'm just taking it easy at home with my kids.

You probably would have been better served to just leave this thred in the basement. Now youre just calling attension to yourself.

A current O/O brought it into me today, wondering / asking about some of the comments made previously by this o/o. It was all pointed out to him. Then I felt it would be good to defend a company that does pay its drivers as it should, provide insurance, pays 100% fsc - so on and so forth. Anything concerning of any "bad" statements by this driver were and are false.
-
Have never heard of Booker until today but to be honest digging up the 3 year old thread when one driver says he had it bad, kind of makes a person wonder why even bother.
One driver does not make for a bad reputation. -
I agree and to be honest take everything that is posted by some with a grain of salt so to say.
But on the other hand many have to start somewhere and hope lessons learned will be education for future prosperity.Last edited by a moderator: Jan 1, 2015
