Its not all that simple. The freight weight you pull (or lack of it) is very important. I had a truck once that made 6 MPG (Detroit 60S) while the other trucks with same engine made 7. This one had 3.73 rear end ratio. Others had 3.55. I drove the truck myself to try to figure it out. I noticed that RPMs of the truck were higher than those of my other trucks with better fuel efficiency. At 65 it was turning circa 1600 RPMs, while my other trucks were turning circa 1450. I must add we were running empty and light very often. I changed tire size from LPs to 11s and instantly the MPG went to 7.4 (GPS miles / fuel purchases average after few weeks and obviously updated speed and rotation). The thing is that if you run light or empty a lot, at 65 MPH you engine has to spin 1600, regardless of the weight. If you go light, less you spin the engine vs distance, less fuel you will consume. Its a lot about ratio vs weight. Common sense I would say. Savings in my case were huge. Just my 2 cents. Best of luck to all. Stay safe.

I'll keep the 24.5's or whatever pre-lo-pro standard. Never had a problem with them all else being equal.

Lo pros have to revolve more per mile and I suspect that might cut into it's own fuel savings promise because you burn more fuel for more wheel turning (And engine etc) Unless somehow you were a wizard and geared the poor engine down to say... 1350 at 60 mph.

LoPro tires are more efficient, they have less rotational mass than a 11r tire.

    x1Heavy Thanks this.

So I can expect to be buried in a massive mountain of 24.5 tires then. UGH.

So what is the recommended tire pressure for a 255-70-22.5?
