Grandma Debi did the CR England lease thing with Virgil

LOL my guess like all the rest.... Reality bit.

 

I still think the whole thread, as said in the wrestling business, is a "work."

 

I enjoyed reading this. Would make a great script. Grandma Debi/Debe/Virgil, or anyone else who's a character in this story, if you're out there do fill us in on how it all went. I feel gipped that I read the thread this far and didn't get to see the conclusion.

I know Virgil personally and I have met Debi on several occasions. Neither are employed as recruiters or marketing staff for CR England. I can't attest to how financially successful the pair were on the road, but I can throw some reality on the 'wonderful adventure' she claims..

Virgil and Debi did train together as drivers at CR England in Salt Lake City. Debi came from Colorado with a boyfriend, some loser who quit the program after he was warned about the drug test, and since they were both older students, she latched on to Virgil right away. They got a leased truck after they finished training and seemed pretty happy and prosperous right off the bat, based on my second-hand reports, anyway.

But in less than a year they drove together, Debi basically quit 3 times - her self-described month(s) long 'vacations'. Virgil never closed the door on her and after running out of money, she came back to driving. As another poster implied, Virgil did 'carry the load' (becoming a solo driver) when she flaked out, time and time again. He also gave her more that her fair share of the pay, for some reason that made no sense to anyone but him.

As to whether she got sick of his personality in close-quarters or simply couldn't handle the work and the long stretches away from home, I don't know. Either possibility would not surprise me...

As of late 2009, Debi is history. They did not part on good terms and Virgil has no idea what she's doing now - maybe flipping burgers back in Colorado. The second time she walked away from trucking, Virgil used that time to get certified as a driver trainer and since the money is so much better, he is now doing pretty well training the next batches of suckers.....

 

Well folks, I'm here to tell y'all it really does work.

I was skeptical at first and laughed at the notion, so I set out to prove it was all horse pucky once and for all. But I learned I was wrong.
Imagine that.

Here's what I did,..........................................
First, I bought a ream of cheap computer paper, and loaded up my printer. Then printed out every page of posts in this thread.
Secondly, I ran each page through my shredder twice until all of the pages were finely shredded like confetti.
Thirdly, I carefully mixed all the confetti together with a quality potting soil. I used MiracleNose Gro, but I think any brand will work fine. I named the mixture Chester Chum, just for reference because I was comparing several different mixtures.
Fourthly, I worked the mixture into the ground with a rake and let the mixture ferment there for a week.
Fifthly, I planted various veggies and flowers carefully in the prepared soil along with some watermelon seeds and lightly watered the entire garden. I watered the garden daily for several weeks without fail.
Sixthly, I just harvested a super crop of veggies and flowers the size of which y'all wouldn't believe.
The veggies are huge with a delectable flavor and the flowers are so fragrant that the whole neighborhood smells like perfume.

Compared to the other mixtures I used, Chester Chum produced a superior crop. I'm planting a bumper crop tomorrow.
For that, I'm using the only part that remains of Virgil's leased Big truck after he tore it up in anger over a little misunderstanding about some fine print in his lease contract, that being, what else, the bumper.

As soon as I find out where the armed guards took him, I plan on suggesting he do with that contract what I did with these pages. I'm thinkin' there's even more pucky in that contract than contained in these pages, so if he knows of some acreage where he can plant veggies, and is willing to give up the sweet Big truck truck lease gig, he might prosper as a farmer.
Chester Chum worked for me. And I'm sure Virgil and I can come to some sort of an agreement as to a lease deal for using my special Chester Chum formula to grow fantastic veggies, and possibly fruit as well. The only thing lacking is a scarecrow.

I'm a new CDL grad out of Oregon...are you guys saying to not lease, but be company driver for career? Or does that just apply to CR England?

 

Thanks for giving us the ending. No one wants to see people fail but so many just walk away without finishing the story THEY started. Some of us spend way too much time on here being abused for trying to warn them of the rigors ahead.

 

They are saying (and rightfully so) Do not lease from a company (Esp. CRE). You should be a company driver at least 2 years, then if you have the business sense and the $ lease the truck from the dealer, not the company.

Make sure you are with a company that you like, or at least can tolerate.
learn the job before you go into business.

There are some folks that have made it, Im not bashing CRE. But I personally do not think a new CDL holder with no experience should go that route. JMHO. Good luck.
