Just wait until someone hits you with the "scrap tire" scam.

Then you'll have something to really complain about, and that $500 will look like chump change.

 

You should fire your agent immediately. Bay City does have trucks because they have a 100% vehicle OOS rating and a 75% driver OOS rating, plus they have only been in business for 6 months. (http://safersys.org/query.asp?searc...&original_query_string=BAY CITY LOGISTICS LLC )

And you are advancing them money? Do you have any standards that you use? At all?? I don't know who will be out of business sooner, them or you?

This is all free information open to the public. Why aren't you using it? I know I'm being a jerk, but jeez-US, just give me your money, or burn it for warmth if you are going to run your business like that. Your 'agent' made a terible choice in even talking to this company for 5 seconds, let alone contracting with them, let alone giving them an advance. You should be more angry at him/her than Bay City. This one was just a no brainer to anyone with even a lick of common sense.

 

Also, what are you doing advancing any company BEFORE you confirm that the load was even picked up?? How can you even justify that?? No one does that unless they are trying to get ripped off.

Consider it a $500 education and just be glad it wasn't more.
