I ran the rim one night from showlow over to camp verde, I bet I saw 200 elk that night all the way across, never before or since have I seen so many anywhere.

Why voluntarily choose to be unable to receive info from other drivers?

I might be a Cb DieHard but my truck won't move unless I have one hooked up, I even have one in my personal vehicles, as others have said cell phone service isn't everywhere I've had many times I didn't have service and the CB saved the day, by all means get you a radio, if you don't make a lot of money yet you can still get one at Walmart even, a small 40 channel radio and like someone else said if you have fuel cards save up your points and you can get one for free at the truck stop but again definitely get you one.

I’ve got a brand new cobra 29, chrome astatic mike, And antenna. Been up on the shelf for 7 yrs now. I honestly don’t miss it. Too much garbage usually. I know, I can always turn it off. That’s the problem, I can’t. Like a looking at a train wreck. So many Rude drivers, talking trash, I just got tired of hearing it. No more than I would want them in my Truck, do I want to be subject to idiocy. Day in day out, after 20+ yrs. it gets old. I may hook it up soon. I think they’re usefull, especially if there’s a problem, with mine or someone’s Truck. Other than that, Id rather not have one.

I don't necessarily have my Cb on at all times, I just feel better having one in case I need it, usually when you're out all along hall away from major cities all that rudeness goes away, then you can actually have decent conversation on it but it's just my opinion it's always better to have it than not.

I agree, it’s best to have one. I just haven’t hooked it up yet. Along with a new Inverter, FM radio, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker. Lol. I thinks it’s called Procrastination, ( sounds better than laziness). Lol

I've somehow managed to survive out here and never hit anything for 18 years without a cb. I have friends and co workers that have them in their trucks and all I've ever heard is #####ing and complaining or garbled nonsense I can't understand. I'm not saying they don't have a purpose like for the guys that are running off road or in severely remote areas but other than that you don't NEED one. It's completely okay to WANT one, I have a ton of #### I don't need that I really like but it is 100% not a need for most guys out on the road. Hell part of the reason I drive a truck I like me/quiet time.

I have been a driver for almost 4 years now (November)

For the first 3 years, I didn't have a cb.

Got a new job this summer where the truck comes pre-installed with a cb, and I don't know how to use it

No idea what channel people use, and my limited time screwing around with the thing resulted in a bunch of garbled speech I coudln't understand.

So now it just stays off so I can listen to my audiobooks and spotify in peace.

Yeah, I'm one of those "new breed" of truckers, so kiss my flip-flops.
