That would be a good thread to start because so many of us work so many different weird schedules and find different ways to deal with it.
So what is your LTL company paying?

No, just find out what said company pays and do the math...it's not difficult or mysterious. Posting checks isn't necessary. E.g. I earn .6948 cpm and have a 552 mile schedule that runs a typical 5 days a week. Drop / hook is 2.00 per instance, 3.50 fuel once a day. I get 21 drops and hooks per day plus 1 fuel....how much do I earn a week in gross pay kids??? Ding ding ding! $2145.148.
Posting of checks is not necessary if you know how the company pays. Bid runs are easy to figure out. Wild or extra board drivers will always fluctuate. There's nothing to hide behind and liars are easily spotted if one knows what said company pays...this isn't rocket science.Last edited: Sep 18, 2019
Gomer1969, speedyk, FlaSwampRat and 1 other person Thank this. -
A lot of ltl guys make both, cpm while driving, hourly for other tasks. In food service, I make hourly (relatively low hourly pay) for all time on duty, plus (low) mileage pay plus stop pay plus case pay. So I have multiple pay rates applying at the same time for most things I do.LtlAnonymous Thanks this.

Daylight sleep for me is never good sleep. If I didn't run daylight linehaul I'd be hard-pressed to make a choice between earning less and doing p&d while sleeping at night, or making more money, not dealing with traffic and customers, but sleeping during the day running night linehaul. Thankfully I have enough seniority and work at a barn where I can choose daylight linehaul bids...and good mileage runs too.Northeasterner and FlaSwampRat Thank this.

I won't go through the hassle of redacting my online paystubs, but I'm at over $67k for the year as of Friday. However, I'd like to say I don't really like doing this for 2 reasons:
1) I don't want to be seen as bragging in any way.
2) I don't want to hear someone else bragging about how they made more money in 6 or 7 months than I did in over 8.
I also don't want to feel like I have to make it look better by talking about all of the intangibles that I think make my job awesome. Money is tricky stuff to discuss, especially among men. It can often devolve into the type of contentious conversation I don't want to participate in.
By the way, I like how you color-coded those messages according to what company the guy works for. Well played, sir!Nathanos, Northeasterner, MACK E-6 and 6 others Thank this. -
There are plenty of drivers at his company who make that much. There are plenty of bids at my company that are up there as well. I know of one in particular at our Louisville barn that pays over $2,250/week (616 miles plus an hour of clock time for d/h + fuel). It's not crazy talk. Just because it's incredible doesn't mean it isn't credible.
This is what I was talking about in my last message. This stuff easily becomes a pissing contest. It's silly.FlaSwampRat, Skorge, dwells40 and 5 others Thank this. -
Its not bragging when another user asked to see a stub. Its purely for informational use. After all this is an informational trucking forum. I just dont understand why some of these drivers on here type up college length essays on a breakdown of their pay but when asked to see a stub they cry like little girls.BDG80, Russian Rabbit and FlaSwampRat Thank this.

The bragging I was referring to was more along the lines of his originally saying "how much do I earn a week in gross pay kids??? Ding ding ding! $2145.148." You're right, asking a question is not bragging.
You said "you wish you made that kind of money" to the guy. Essentially saying, "you're a liar, prove it." That's the kind of childish stuff I'm talking about when I say men get silly over discussing money.
You also said, "when asked to see a stub they cry like little girls." This is what I was referring to when I said, "it can often devolve into the type of contentious conversation I don't want to participate in." Nobody cried like a little girl. The only one getting a little too sensitive here seems to be you.
Sorry for the college-length essay.Nathanos, brian991219, Skorge and 6 others Thank this. -
