    does the 2008 volvo have to be parked to burn soot out of filter or does it do it automatically while driving

    You might want to try using The fuel Catalyst additive from Pittsburgh Power. It will help with soot buildup, also look into a Diesel Force cleaning. It will get the entire internals and filter clean.

    In 2008 only 2 engne options ISX or D13 both had DPF equipped. Please clarify.

    There is third option on 08 which is a d12 only a handful build in late 07 and with those engine no dpf just dual egr I’ve only seen about 3 or 4 so far though.
