I work months without a day off 7 days a week. Just trying to get on my feet. No kids or wife but have a girlfriend.
Looking to get a job working 4on 3 off.
I only plan to drive long enough to pay tuition for my dream job. Hopefully by the time I’m 26 I’ll be doing good. I’m 24now.
I’d be doing better if I wasent getting shafted in my miles

I have worked for myself the biggest part of my life, and did the 7 day a week thing for years, finally and old guy wanted me to take a couple of days and go do something. I told him I had to work, and he said, well aren't you the friggen boss, ask for some time off. Something clicked, and I started taking some time for myself after that. lol

If Dave Ramsey or Adam Smith motivate you... more power to you.

I was raised middle class. My father drove a COE corn binder (that’s an International Harvester to all you new guys) hauling beer from Milwaukee to La Crosse WI. We never really had money.

I’ve met some very smart individuals while in the Army. Rangers who saved money and went to school or invested. Maybe I was lucky.. I was surrounded by men who aspired to be better than normal and survived some of the worst life could dish out... you had to, and failure for a lot of us was not an option.

Everyone has different circumstances. I was a motivated individual. My point was if you sit around and admit defeat... and never really try to get better with your finances... just complain about how this job sucks and you hate backing and want to be home more and make more... you’ll never make the situation better for yourself.

There is nothing special about Ramsey’s plan, it just gives people motivation and a plan. And when you take the FPU class it surrounds you with a group of like-minded people to keep you motivated and moving forward.

Live to work, work to live, or find a nice balance between both. The choice is yours.
