Well, I finally got the release from the MD without any restrictions. I had to go at it a couple of times, just to get through his gatekeepers (Receptionist, files clerk, from the clerk and twice around with his RN.
I thought I had a Hot Lead with National Carriers, only to be told I needed recent driving experience.
The only other leads I've got at the moment are with CFI (?) and two offers with Fleet Owners that are with Panther Transportation teaming on straight truck expeditated.
A 1099 position, teaming, on a straight truck?
And from what little I've read about them it could be hit or miss. They "say" weekly pay is around $1,000 to $1300 a week gross. Three weeks out, 4 to 5 days hometime a month?
I'm figuring more like $600 to 700 a week gross? They're also saying it might be a week or up to three before I see a check" deprnfing on when I come on?"
I've also read there's a lot they don't tell you until you get to orientation.
Needless to say I'm not feeling all warm and fuzzy about them, but I need to get back to work ASAP! -
Did CFI offer you a job? If so, I'd take that over teaming.
Did you try Abilene Motor Express? -
Thanks for the reply.
I'm calling CFI first thing tomorrow morning.
Abeline Express as well
Really don't want to go team again and not crazy about the 1099 business.
Shouldn't be this hard to get a job. I hate the entire job hunting business with a passion. All the more reason to get somewhere can "Hire to Retire"
I will most definitely be working on getting my HazMats endorsement.Chinatown Thanks this. -
Try Britton Transport out of Grand Forks, ND. I work there and they are good to me. They take new drivers but are not a mega. They have about 115 trucks. They have the freight and you will get the miles. You will for sure get an automatic as that is all they have. You will not be teaming. Check out their website and give them a call. You won't regret it. Best wishes to you!

Heard back from CTI.
I initially submitted an application with them 2 ~ 3 weeks ago when I had issue with the medical release. Spoke with recuitrr, I'll call "C"
She told me, yea we would need that release.
So got the release. Called and texted "C". Left a voice mail yada ~ yada.
Soooooo, I get a call from someone I thought was 'C' from CTI. But as it turns out? It wasn't. Apparently it was a different recruiter?
Went through the regular question and answer session, said everything looked good, she was going to kick it up to the next level for final approval, and that she would be in touch.
Later this afternoon, " C" calls me, tells me it wasn't her that called, that there no notes nor record of the conversation etc.
She also tells me that I'm not eligible for hire because even though I was employed with my original company for a year, I only actually drove for six months, and that I've been off the truck for eight months? Longer than I was actually on the truck of six months.
Moving right along I got an email late this afternoon from a recuiter from Southern Refrigerated, that I'll be following up with tomorrow as well.
I've yet to hear back from the other companies suggested (as well as others I've applied to). But I'll be following through with then tomorrowx1Heavy, Truckermania and Chinatown Thank this. -
Just checked my Drivers Pulse on my phone. Bookoo this and that activity from Southern Refrigerator. They sent me a pdf file of my drivers record (Clean as a whistle ), assigned me a recruiter that ill be getting in touch with tomorrow.
Southern Refrigerator recruiter sent me a message asking if I was a smoker or not; so I'm assuming this is for training purposes or for teaming up? Find out tomorrow.
Also got assigned a recruiter from Magum.Last edited: Oct 8, 2019

Go to a different practitioner. They give you the run around that you cant pay for it as it must be filled out by the company. Bunch of cow excrement if you ask me. I went to a doctor that gives out medical cards same day here in maine. Only $75, probably cheaper somewhere else. I dont care. Good luck getting it resolved

Right now, for the time being, I just need to get back to work yada ~ yada. Get past these obstacles that I've come up against, get some more experience under my belt.
