I notched out my cabinet to fit around the stock system. I am close to pulling the trigger on buying another used mount for the other side and doubling them up behind the sleeper. The factory side stacks use a bracket under the cab and one up high on the sleeper. If it didn’t come from the factory with side stacks it is hard to retrofit them. If it was easy mine would already have them. That’s a pretty slick setup! Looks nice and clean.

I liked the looks of those, but hate that ungodly muffler they put underneath to do be able to use the side stacks.

    That looks awesome!

But yeah, I'm back home, and I've decided I think I'll let the pro's take care of this. And might as well take care of several things at ones. Take off the APU + fan / rad, take off the cab aero crap, and have them build a twin-stack exhaust behind the cab.

But first, some ####### punctured my front tire while my truck was parked a block away. It was fine when I parked it. So I need a new tire. And I now need a new windshield as well, because as I was heading home, passing another truck, that truck kicked up a rock and smashed my windshield. Not all the way through, but enough for DOT to notice.

Anyway, I'll stop by the custom shop in Jersey on Monday after I get my tire replaced. I'll see what they say as far as price. There's also another custom shop here in Brooklyn, maybe I'll go there first though they seem to usually do custom work on tow trucks.

So I went to the custom shop (Elizabeth Truck Center) in Jersey today. After talking to Rob (the owner I think?) about what I wanted, he gave me an estimate for the exhaust only: $10k - $12k! #### that! I bought the truck for $12.8k. That seems way too steep. He said it's because of a lot of custom work required to properly support the stacks behind the cab.

The main issue seems to be chassis brackets to support the stacks and elbow joint to connect to the turbo-side pipe.

I'll drive up tomorrow to my regular place where I go to for oil changes, see if they can do something about it.

Going to a shop like that you’re going to have a ton of labor at $100+ an hour.

Yup $3,000+ in stacks and exhaust, few hundred in aluminum for the bracing, 15-20 hours in labor charges at $100+ an hour.
