Anyone know anything about the o/o side of Ceva Logistics and/or Mason Dixon?

I currently work for Ceva Logistics as a company driver. I've been looking all over the place for information about their owner operator fleet, but I can't find anything- not even on their web site. I'd like to talk to a driver who knows something about them before I call to talk with them. The main things I'm wondering about are their rates and mileage.

Ceva has been good to me as a company driver, although we had to take a pay cut earlier this year. We just aren't getting raises this year and that was for everyone in the company from management on down. I guess worse things have happened to drivers over the past couple of years.

Mason Dixon is another company that I've run across that I'm interested in. They look pretty good, but I can't find anything about their rates either. They say they run to Canada and that's something I'd like to avoid. They also say that they have no forced dispatch. So I guess I could stay out of Canada with them, but I'm wondering how much I will suffer as far as getting loads goes.

I don't see anything about these two companies on this site. I'd appreciate any information you have about them.

Mason Dixon is owned by the same guy that owns Central transport, Universal Am-Can, Pro Logistics, Mckinley Trucking and on and on. Had trucks with UACL, no forced dispatch, ran where and when we wanted, paid percentage (usually within 2-3 days) and paid more if you pulled your own trailer.

Not sure how their rates are now, but a year ago they were one of the load boards I had saved to try to find a load from since their rates were pretty good (Mason Dixon), but seemed my husband wasn't ever in the right area or didn't have the pipe stakes needed, if it wasn't one thing it was another lol. I haven't looked at their load board in a long time, some of the rates were posted, others you had to call in on.

I take it you worked outta the Groveport Hub ?
You will have to find a Contractor to Sub under or get your own truck.
We all took the same pay cut(rates) were down to $.92 loaded and $.46 empty + FSC.
They moved Operations to Houston Tx and its been a cluster ever since.
Team trucks are running pretty steady @5-7K per week, singles are struggling to get 3K.
Do a google search for " Ceva formally SCG " look for the contractor application and fill it out. That will get the ball rolling.

Truthfully your better off staying where your at,it aint no fun "out here these days" :biggrin_25512:

I work out of Troy, Ohio. You've probably never been there. All I see is company drivers there and it's all local work for Ceva. The OTR stuff is contracted to other carriers. That's not Ceva doing that. We are just the house carrier for Honda up there.

You are probably right to say that I should stay put. I've been looking around on the web and reading a lot here. The outlook for trucking in the near future looks pretty gloomy.

Our terminal was unaffiliated with SCG when Ceva bought you guys out.

I've seen Ceva quite a bit around Indianapolis, IN. Are they a good company to work for? Do they have a terminal close to here? My husband, 24 yrs experience, was just laid off this week. He's looking for a good reputable company. Any advice you can give would be great? What is cpm? Other pay? Thanks!

I do not know a whole lot about Ceva beyond the terminal I work out of in Troy (near Dayton, Ohio). So I don't know if they are hiring out of Indiana right now. I do know that they have some drivers based in Indy for their Nissan auto parts account. I've talked to one of those drivers before and he makes good money. I know that sounds weird, but they don't have a lot of information out there about their driving opportunities. You pretty much have to put in the application and see what happens. I think they also have a recruiting number you can call on their web site.

I started working for them as a temp, put in my time, and got hired on full time after 6 months. I'm a local driver. I get home every day and I have the weekends off. I make about $1000 a week before taxes. I work 45 hours a week. I'm single and I don't have children. My insurance costs about $27 a week for major medical, prescription, dental, vision, and disability.

It's the best job I've ever had and even though I dream about being an owner/operator, I'm probably not going anywhere soon.
