Playing a dangerous game with a truck that has lived its life at a certain horsepower.
I've seen too many times where people increase the horsepower and result is a major repair.
If anything, find your current TQ and focus on increasing that most importantly. The isx had a lot of different ratings.Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -
The Engine option is 430hp... Even though they have a 500hp option Its not as easy as flipping a switch to increase Horsepower. Companies Turning Trucks down is a myth!

Yes it it just about that easy, Putting a power tune in an ECM is not difficult. I do Power tunes for Pittsburgh Power. I also have one on my 2350 ISX, took it from 425HP to almost 650, 555 to the ground. That was 200k ago and no issues at all from it.Another Canadian driver Thanks this.

That is not a factory option though. That is a custom Tune not a factory deal. To increase Hp from 425 to 650 requires more air and fuel options. Its not just a Click this and send. Also if that is possible, What equipment and programming do you use? I learn stuff all the time..

Look up Pittsburgh Power, Thy have Tune Dealers throughout the country that can perk that motor up. I am one of them and I have a 650 power tune on my ISX 2350. Thy are not cheap, the 650 tune is $1450, Thy do offer other tunes at lower prices also.Another Canadian driver Thanks this.

Do they get into Def and DPF deletes also?Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -
No thy do not. Every thing they do is legal.

I use a laptop with base software for Cummins, Detroit, Caterpillar and International, I connect to the internet and hook up to truck. Thy do the tunes from there end. I don't do the actual tune thy do. You rite about it not being a factory option, If you hook up my truck it says it's set at 425hp, so no need to even change the original ECM settings just have a program running in the background.Another Canadian driver and Fleetdieseltech Thank this.
