Sounds like a smart move at this point. Let your wife try it out for a while to make sure she still likes the work after doing it for a year or so. Something she might consider is hauling milk from dairies, and there are many of them in that part of Colorado. I use to work delivering calf feed to dozens of them around the Denver area. Tell her to get really good at installing chains on a tractor/trailer. Winters around there can be brutal.

I get it... but that's the Denver housing market. We would like to sell it... but finding something "cheap" is extremely difficult. It doesn't exist in Colorado and if you find something you end up in a bidding war. Houses can go for 35k and higher then the asking price.

    You will learn to wait.

FFE kept wife and I ready at a moment's notice at a shipper in Salinas for almost 85 straight hours. We were taking turns sleeping in each of our bunks and cooking food, and so on. That particular load was not worth the week we lost handling it. We wont be doing that again.

The roads in so many areas are so bad now, that to team and sleep would be bad. Husband just got through delivering to Kroger/King Sooper there in the Denver area and the main road going there was terrible with ruts. This is going on all over the United States now, even the driver is beat to death and he has a more expensive seat in the truck.

Hope you both find your dreams, but perhaps with the wife out on a local, it will bring you more money in for the time being.

Unless you do delivery then it's.
More off the truck faster with less miles = more money.

I agree. The United States is crumbling. You should eyeball the German Autobahn built on 5 feet of stone, 1 of filler and another 3 of pavement. Some sections date to war years 70 years ago.

Our roads are ####. And not getting any better. Makes me return to the old time checking of my lug nuts. Even today I will go over them. Break a few.

US67 has a section of about 8 miles which the 1961 and 1962 original plates are folding up pounding the #### out of our car. We decided to run to ElPaso and then south to Cabot from now on until they replace that section in about 3 years for future I-57.

Its truly #### above the Lonoke County Line. If it matters any the Searcy overpass at the 42 has gotten a new pavement and a few inches of roller skate wheel material on top of that. I think they might do the same on the 44 loves exit.

I don't remember the roads being so bad in 2008. Bandaids that are failing.
