My 1/2" drive can and has changed tires. It's slightly more compact than the 3/4, so it fits better in the truck. LOVE my M18 fuel.

Physically my half inch is the exact same size as my 3/4, and I have the highest rated 1/2 they make which is only 60 pounds less than the 3/4. I tend to think they are the same exact gun except for anvil size. They do make 2 more 1/2 in guns that are rated for less torque.Johny41 Thanks this.

I purchased this one (photo bellow) in 2015 , for about 350$ from Rural King in Illinois, 700/1100 Ft-lbs , could be cheaper now. I don't know any bolt requiring higher toque, even the wheel lug nuts are torqued around 500ft/lbs. This new model is overkill for truck bolts. I purchased 3 batteries and 6 M18 tools,; 2 more impact wrenches one more compact lower torque and one for 90 degrees, drill, sawzall and ... this cut-off/ grinder, love it, and use very often especially to cut the cable/bolt seals on trailer without breaking my bolts with worn out shippers bolt cutters..

I could be wrong about their comparative sizes. The 3/4 does seem heavier, though. -
Im still waiting for the chicoms to figure out how to make a decent pencil.

Of course it will be metric too

I actually found a decent cordless impact drill at Harbor Freight. Honestly it’s never something I thought about/nor knew existed.. Was always going to just buy a air one and use my gladhand air hose with the quick connect fittings. What’s your take on either a 1/2 or 3/4 as far as practical goes. Like price of sockets ect ect... 3/4 is more powerful at 1400 ft lbs torque. 1/2 at 1200. This is something I need in my life. Thank you too original poster and future replies... btw I see your from Canada. My wife is from Ottawa. Go senators

Ill be buying a 3/4 drive m18 impact soon. Perfect to have with you when SHTF on the side of the road. For what its worth I don't believe the glad hands will run a 1" air impact efficiently. I sure it works but would imagine it taking forever to remove all the lugs on a wheel. YMMV
LumbraX Thanks this. -
