I went to a shipper one time years ago. It was a large Distribution Center.

They had a policy that you were not allowed in your tractor once you back in. You had to sit in this room with 50 other drivers and just sit in a little hard chair for however many hours until you were unloaded.

I'm sure this is a large National company and all of the locations abide by the same rule but I can't remember who it was.

    Any ideas?

Been to a couple back years ago. They said a safety thing so trucks would not leave while forklift unloading.

What would they say if you dragged your mattress into the driver room? Sounds like a crappy place to go to.

    BJ's that was the place!

Thanks for the answer. I needed to know because I will never ever ever go back there again no, unless they pay me maybe four times what the load is worth.

You spend a lot of money and time to have a nice tractor that you can take a nap in, watch a movie, catch up on your paperwork, and instead they lock you in a room that you have to sit on a hard chair for hours on end until they are finished with you.

Screw that and screw them. It's bad enough you have to wait, but if I can't be on the dock while they're loading me I want to be in my nice comfortable truck.
