Why do Publix trucks look strange?

I will get a pic of the new 2020 cascadias they got next time I see one and I'm not driving. They are even worse, they somehow pushed the cab so far forward it looks like the doors are over the steer tires.

Its the roof wing. Get rid of that and it'd probably look ok.

Actually, I think there's a reason it looks like that, I believe it's the setback steer axle that makes it look odd, but it brings the motor farther forward for more weight on the steers, and they are great for backing in where these guys have to go. Also, I think it's easier to work on than a non-setback.

Kiswani, an intermodal outfit I work for out of Chicago, has about 10 ex Publix Cascadias. I think they are 2012 models, DD13 w 10 speed and short wheelbase.
They are specc'd kinda funny. They have no air dump. The jakes only work above 35mph. Some that i have run were a bit long in the tooth. I do like the short wheelbase when backing. I am typically assigned to an ex Ryder Cascadia with a Cummins, air dump, and a longer 200in wheelbase. I do prefer it even though I think the Publix trucks are better looking.
