Never heard of this one. Not calling you a liar or anything. I've heard of sand, golf balls, and seen the gel pack things put inside.
Wouldn't ceramic beads have the same problem as the golf balls did, creating wear inside the tire?
And where do you get them?PE_T Thanks this. -
Nope, they do no such thing to the inside of tires. I've been running ceramic beads inside all my tires to good effect for several years now. They're about the size of lead shot in a shotgun shell. It's not a new idea or "technology".
I know at any Love's tire shop out here on the road they will install them if you want or you can buy the bags of beads and DIY. I'm pretty sure most any tire shop out there sells them. I re-use mine by shop vac'ing them out of the old tires, weighing them out, and putting them in sandwich baggies to drop inside the new tires.

Had an Owner Operator who went to an alignment shop that also spun the tires and cut them to be 100% round...He said he felt he was nuts watching this guy shave tread off NEW tires until he drove it...Last edited: Oct 9, 2019
blacklabel, PE_T and Capacity Thank this. -
Back when I was with the IRL , they had a salesman come thru the pits trying to sell balancing powder it looked like flour , Old Spice my boss from Chevy called it snake oil.
We ran 17.5 balanced tires on my trailer and there was a running bet in the pits when I was going to blow one at 33,880. Never did , only could have that on a Michelin.Last edited: Oct 8, 2019
