Need job, but running into an issue.

They're a "Starter Company" owned by Covenant as I understand it. May or may not have drivers facing cameras.

Being retired military, my I don't need their medical insurance, etc

My focus at the moment is getting back to work, gaining experience, building up my skill set etc.

I currently live in seriously rural Mississippi
I go check the mail, walk across the road, I'm standing in the Desoto Nathional Forrest. I'm 30 minutes from the nearest town; 20 from the nearest store.

So anything job wise would be better than anything around here? Most "men folk" work off from home off shore, in the Texas oilfields, pipelines, even overseas contract work, working on tow boats on the river.

I've elected to go out with a trainer....

$150 after orientation, supposedly a $1000 sign-on bonus

$550 per week while training
.39 CPM with 6 months experience
.41 CPM with 1-year experience
3 to 3.5-star rating.

Safety and fuel bonus yada ~ yada

As in said my goals and focus at this time is

~ Training
~ Gaining experience
~ Keeping license as clean as possible
~ Becoming and being as safe, efficient, and effective driver as i can become

 

First day orientation with SRT.

SO far, so good. I'm guarded but optimistc. Things are definitely looking up, after a perpetual dark cloud hanging over me for months and months.

I've been with my SRT Trainer since last Friday.

I've learned MORE in three days, than I did with my mega carrier trainer in SIX MONTHS!

I didn't have a trainer with the mega carrier.

He was a lease operator running students for traininer pay and miles.

I've got a TRAINER NOW!!
