Picked up at a customer of mine today and could tell this trans am driver there was a little new at things and offered to help which was accepted.
Upon further conversation ( driver was on the A game for a newb) I found out that trans am is taking school grads straight out of school and bringing them to olathe for 7 days of classroom and testing ...then straight into a truck solo with no trainer !
I will say this driver was no dummy and will probably succeed ...but man what a risk !
What say you ?

That plan sounds great until their next lawsuit. "so you are saying you unleash untrained drivers onto the motoring public while every other company in the industry assigns veteran trainers to provide OJT?"Suspect Zero, D.Tibbitt, Texas_hwy_287 and 2 others Thank this.

It happens every day. Especially here in California, I've seen drivers (and helped a few back into spots) that there was no way they knew even enough to pass a CDL test let alone drive solo. Some medium to large trucking companies get licensed to act as schools and give the final test for a CDL. I have no doubt that some of those companies are taking bribes to issue a license to untrained drivers. A few years ago several California DMV employees were arrested for taking bribes to issue licenses and they all got prison time. They issued thousands of licenses. Somebody has always figured out a way to game the system.

2 years too late. For me. 5 years too late for my aunt. 14 years too late for my cousin. And she still has hers.
