When I was doing OTR I would write down all the unusual places that I could do my 10 hour reset. For example, I remember there was a big empty lot next to paper mill in Valdosta, GA where few trucks always parked overnight. It belonged to that particular paper mill but they would never actually check if you are loading/unloading there.

Over the next few months I had big list of places in different states and cities where I could spend the night.

 

I heard some people don't like sleeping in weigh stations because they can wake up to an inspection. Is that true?

Ive slept at weigh stations several times and never had an issue. Most of them always have open spots.

There are useful apps for truckers. I just like to have lo-tech backups with me in the truck.
