Leaking @ the valve cover or @ the valve cover base that bolts to cyl head? The base has oil gallery to feed the VVA housings. O-ring from head to base @ rear.

No its leaking at the valve cover, the bolts for that valve cover tighten into the base but the threads got messed up so I used a heli coil kit and fixed em but it's still not tightening the gasket down enough so I got a leak in the back

Your heli-coil didn't pull up and prevent isolator from bottoming? I usually use a gardsert for those and make sure they are flush. Original threads are countersunk. 21 ft/lb is factory spec, but I usually go 18 ft/lb with anti-seize on bolts.

I'm looking into those gardserts right now, do you know what size I'd need?

M8 x 1.25. Get the stainless steel thin wall ones. Look @ the chart with it for drill bit size. Believe it is a "V".

I started working at the shop where my dad who owned a trucking company got his serviced at, I started when I was 17 and picked up quickly, rebuilt one of our units last January so I'd thought I'd give this one a try, my brother and I own the company now and dad retired, brother handles dispatch and I do maintenance, hopefully everything goes well, I appreciate the praise thank you!

Pull out the heli-coil. Be careful drilling the aluminum it bites easily! I find the hole depth then mark it on the bite with making tape. Seems like the exhaust side ones are the most prone to threads pulling out. I usually just fix them all on that side. Make sure to keep the shavings out of your fresh motor.
