Is it a fair deal at $45-$50,000? If so, what do you care what he paid for it? Why should his good luck/fortune/negotiating skills/experience have any bearing? If it's a fair price and selling as advertised then he certainly isn't "ripping anyone off."

He must feel like he's ripping people off if he feels the need to lie about the purchase price. ‍♂️

Irrelevant and immaterial. I don't care what anybody else paid, or says they paid, I only care about what I pay.

If the salesman is lying about trivial stuff he is probably lying about the overhaul too. If I ask the bottom dollar and the reason for your bottom dollar is you'd only be making 2k buy in reality it's closer to 20k. You are a ####ty person not worth doing business with. If any of you other steering wheel holders don't have a problem with it, it's not my problem.

I agree. But when I ask whats the lowest you'll take and it's 45k because you'd only be making 2k when in actuality it's 20k. That's when it turns into a what did he pay for it.

If a broker asks you what it costs you and offers cost + 10%
You taking that? Or you thinking he’s trying to rip you off?

    That's not the same.

If a broker asks me what's the lowest I'll go on a load, I will quote my price and not make up a BS reason of why it is the price. That's my price take it or leave it.
