No you can't.
The numbers before the sequencial serial number of the truck is different if it is glider to indicate it is setup as an incomplete chassis.

What the law book says and what the troopers go out there enforcing have deviated many, many times in my experience. In my favor and against.
Ive taken to doing what i think is best and crossing those bridges as i come to them.starmac Thanks this. -
You cannot legally put a pre emissions engine in a newer truck and just be emissions and eld exempt. If the truck came from the factory with an engine of the same model year, any other engine installed in that truck must be that model year or newer.

Technically right, but has been done for years, and the new eld law directly contradicts that. I would be fun to watch some savvy lawyers fight that one out.

My mech keeps telling me to get a isx or c15 over anymore emissions. Just for the power, but then he will add that rebuilds are more and dont get a anything before 2005 that has an ejr I wish I could find out exactly how much more a 2nd gen isx with the egr is compared to n14 and 12.7 series 60

Do you have a restriction on year model for the lease .
-
No. need to be able to pass dot and that's it as far as they are concerned everything else is my problem.
It just seems that the most dependable for my money is well maintained late 90s with a rebuild or doing it myselfFabulous Maximus, ChevyCam and Tx Countryboy Thank this. -
More important to find out what your gonna be hauling and where. And of course the rate, is the most critical issue if you’re gonna sink or swim. You fit the truck to the work.
I don’t know if anyone’s mentioned buying a new new truck with warranties. Don’t put down all of the $40k. You’re going to need a reserve fund. Sometimes a new reliable truck will have a lower cost of ownership, than trying to keep a junk on the road, unless you the mechanic. Tough market right now. Too many trucks chasing too few loads. Take your time. Don’t rush the process.Fabulous Maximus Thanks this.
