If only there was a tactful way of letting the boss know. I do run loose leaf, but I do save ALL of my logs (at least the ones that make it back home.)

Trucking Jobs in 30 seconds
Every month 400 people find a job with the help of TruckersReport.

Do some research on the Net, find news articles that show the consequences for a company or owner that forces their drivers to run illegal, print them up and mail them (anomynously if u must) to your boss. if he is smart, he'll get the point.
BTW, I would start lookin for another job, if I were you. No one gives a wit about your driving record. Protect it aggressively, if you allow it to get dirty, you are screwed! -
I've got an LG VX5400 phone, it has a button on the side that can record conversations, it's right below the camera button. Very useful if someone is asking you to do something Very Bad or Not Good.

I think you should just get on with Werner and be done with it. This won't end well for either of you and you're not on the same page at all.
otherhalftw Thanks this. -
OP, your boss knows the rules 10x better than you ever will. If you dint want to run illegally find yourself a new job. Sorry but I doubt this will have a happy ending no matter how delicately you put it to your boss.

The day I would consider Werner would be a sad day indeed.

Which is worse: a speeding ticket or a logbook violation? How can a logbook violation be proven, with no fuel tickets during the trip(only at the beginning or end), no quallcom, no satellite tracking, and no toll road usage?
-
The trip can possibly be made legally, IF everything goes absolutely perfect.
-
Simplest thing to do: QUIT.
Find another job. Thats what youre going to have to do anyways. The guy runs a tight schedule. You do not want to run that schedule and so are looking at ways to get his attention or set him up so you dont have to run.
Its not your gig. He wants a driver with stones. You dont have any stones. If you had stones, you wouldnt be trying to find ways to sneak around and basically blackmail him, you would have just stood up to him in his face and told him mano y mano that you were not going to run his schedule if it violated DOT regs.
If the trip can be made legally, it can be logged legally. If you cant do it, tell the man you cant do it. Leave all the espionage talk to the weak and spineless. OR find you another job where you can be weak and spineless with the rest of the drivers.FriedTater Thanks this. -
Read it again very slowly in case you missed something the first time.

This is real time trucking, not some warm fuzzy cyber land free from reality.(addyourfavoritetruckingforumhere)
Those that project the pristine image of the model trucker are a joke.No matter how hard one tries, you can not run 100% Legal per current HOS Regulations.
The daily variables prevent"spot on accuracy" therefore
100% Compliance is imaginary at best.
Thanks for the Great Post!
Boardhauler, 550hpW900L, old-school and 1 other person Thank this.
